My first pictures taken for photography class.
Twelve photos with lines.
In the first picture, the clouds in front of the sunset really made this picture unique. This red glow makes it look as if the sky and water are on fire. The second picture is simple and clean. All the wood around the contrasting flowers and vases really makes those colors pop. The reflection makes it look as if the flowers come out of the bottom of the vase. The third picture again is simple and very appealing. The railing, break walls, and fishing boat contrast with the water and the near exact same colored sky. This makes the boat stand out as the unique old-fashioned machine it is.
My top three photos.
1. I took the first photo with side lighting. I had the lights on in the room outside the door and turned the lights off in the room my dad was standing in to give his face a side lighting effect and have half the picture dark and half light.
I took the second photo with light painting. I told my dad to draw an imaginary triangle with his phone flash in aa dark room. I set my shutter speed to five seconds.
I waited until it was dark outside because i knew the flash on my camera really defines close objects. The darkness outside blocked out all things not on this flower to give it the front lighting effect.
2. One thing i learned from this assignment is light painting from traffic is taken by adjusting the shutter speed on the camera.
Another thing I learned from this assignment is how to get side lighting photos by both artificial and natural lighting.
Also I learned that cool shadows show up in the places you would least expect them. They add a very neat aspect to a photo.
